What a Light Night!
Friday 14 May 2010 saw over 50 Liverpool venues staying open late into the night. Light Night was a fun filled night for thousands of culture vultures young and old from Merseyside and beyond!
Highlights of the evening included Sir Ranulph Fiennes at the Victoria Gallery & Museum, The Walker Gallery's exhibition launch of prints by Toulouse-Lautrec, "High Kicks and Low Life", which included music from the band Deadbelgian and French-style accordion player Helen Maher, and Il mattino ha l'oro in bocca? A 'golden' installation by artist Filip Gilissen launching the 2010 International Liverpool Biennial.
Light Night is a national event where cities 'stay up late'; encouraging people of all ages to celebrate the city and it's culture by seeing it in a different light. .
Light Night adds a second late night offering to the city, following in the footsteps of 'The Long Night' events and building on its success – The Long Night, entering its third year will take place in mid November.
